The clock Works perfectly using light sensor to switch clock at invert mode: the figures are white in the dark time of day and black at daytime. Designed and made by Vadim Kibardin’s a Black & White Clock (an average length is 60 mm x 110 mm x 10mm)turns two dimensions into three with a series of four OLED digits. Every Clocks digits has self-contained power supply and independent control

A light sensor would figure out if it’s bright or dark in the room, adjusting the numbers accordingly–going dark to form numbers during the day, and bright white at night.

Alexander Muse MEETS GS1 MobileCom Work Group


Big in Japan co-founder Alexander Muse met this week with the GS1 MobileCom Work Group (a global standards organization WITH focus on the mobile extension of GS1 standards.) to offer feedback and advice based on user experience with ShopSavvy, the popular comparison shopping application for mobile phones.

The meeting took place June 23-24 at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Cambridge, Mass.

ShopSavvy enables users to comparison shop on the go, simply by scanning any product's barcode using a Google Android phone's built-in camera. Using the barcode information, ShopSavvy searches the Web for the best prices on the product, displaying the lowest prices online as well as at nearby brick-and-mortar retailers. ShopSavvy looks up product reviews to further assist with purchase decisions.

Big In Japan was one of the original winners of the Google Android Challenge in September 2008 for its development of ShopSavvy. The application has since won a 2009 Netexplorateur of the Year award at the French Senate in Paris.
