Mozilla Launches 'Candy Loss' to Firefox 4

In the next major update to the Mozilla browser, Firefox 4 is announced some changes and news, among other tabs will move to the top, as it is known from Chrome. Now they go a step further with the tabs and introduces "Loss Candy".

In short, there is a whole new way to manage its tabs on. Today it can quickly become unreadable if you have many pages open at once, especially when the tabs start to "disappear" from the list and you have to scroll to see the rest.

With Loss Candy is the end, since it at the touch of a button, can see all his fanblade in what can best be described as an Exposé-like feature. Here it is possible to group tabs by dragging and dropping them so relevant pages belong together.

Yet this is an early alpha version of the function, and developer Aza Raskin has many ideas for what should be possible. In a video you can see below, he explains how Candy Tab works now and how he imagines it will look like when it is finished.

Firefox 3.6 available . Go get it

Yesterday, the Mozilla Foundation released the final new-awaited version of Firefox, v. 3.6, which offers a range of new things. Among these are:

• Personas: Quickly changing your Firefox Themes without the required restart of the program.
  
• Plugin Update: Firefox now includes continuously monitor whether you are running with obsolete plugins.
  
• Stability Improvements: Firefox is now better to avoid crashes caused by third-party applications.
  
• Form filler: Now Firefox can even guess what will be in different fields from what you usually write in similar fields.
  
• Solution: No new browser version, without improvements in the JavaScript front.
  
• Video and audio: Improved support for audio and video in HTML 5 (YouTube's new HTML 5-page still works does not).

The new version can be downloaded by following the link in the header, or using Firefox's own update function. As usual it out for both Windows, OS X and Linux.

Mozilla patches 9 Firefox bugs, four critical

Mozilla has released a new version of its Firefox software designed to fix several stability bugs in the browser engine, some of which showed evidence of memory corruption and could potentially be exploited to run arbitrary code. Of the nine flaws fixed in Firefox 3.0.11, four were rated critical, one high, two moderate and two low in Mozilla’s four-step system.


In addition to the security fixes, the Firefox developers updated the version of SQLite used within the browser to remove errors that could destroy the bookmark database.
