A worker feeds lumber cut from virgin Amazon jungle trees into one of nearly 1,200 ovens just outside the town of Ulianopolis in Para state, Brazil. The wood will be converted to charcoal to heat homes and fire iron smelters. Brazil's charcoal industry is one of the leading causes of the rainforest destruction.
