India Leading the Nokia's Mobile Market

According to some latest news and researches, India is leading the Nokia's mobile market, passing the United States for the first time. China remains the only country to have a larger market share.



In addition, as of this month, the handset manufacturer's factory in Sriperumbudur, Chennai, has exported 60 million phones to 58 countries. Nokia Siemens Network recently announced its intention to invest $100 million to develop Indian telecommunications over the next three years.

"India is playing an increasingly important role in the global economy buoyed by impressive economic growth, skilled manpower and tremendous business opportunity," said Olli-Pekka Kallasvuo, president and CEO of Nokia, in a company statement. "As the market leader in devices and infrastructure, Nokia is committed to build the telecom ecosystem in the country and foster the creation of a favorable environment for collaboration and economic development."
