Nokia will force its 2,000 employees to take leave

Nokia has decided to send its 2,000 production workers on a forced leave from Nokia factory in Salo, Finland. This represents one fifth of the workforce at the factory.

The declining demand and lower production, which forms the basis for Nokia’s decision. The factory has simply unnecessarily large number of employees in relation to current market situation. Although not yet available, some specific plans, however, Nokia is hopeful and says that the maximum staff will be on leave for up to three months. If the current plan does not help the economy, a combustion wave will probably take shape very quickly.

The factory in Salo is among other things known to produce the first batch Nokia N97 Models. Production of just N97 at the Salo factory can also be viewed in this video on YouTube.
