Samsung and Toshiba triplesdata transmission speed

When it comes to the popular flashram type NAND , so there is a big problem , data transmission speed is not very high but it has Samsung and Toshiba now been resolved .

The current standard allows speeds of up to 40 Mbps over a SDR interface (Single Data Rate ) and uses get a DDR interface ( Double Data Rate) rate can reach 133 Mbps. Toshiba and Samsung have now come up with next version of the DDR interface, which triples the speed to 400 Mbps.

The new specification , called " Toggle DDR 2.0 "will be open to all, and they hope that companies like Intel and Micron will use them, because the technology also can spread to the SSD market.

Both companies are working together with JEDEC (Joint Electron Devices Engineering Council) , to ensure standardization of the specifications.

Sony ready with powerful laser projector module

Most projectors using a xenon lamp as light source, but they are expensive and do not last too long. It is now the solution to Sony with their new laser module to the projector.

The module fills only 152 mm x 114 mm x 30.5 mm but can reach a brightness of 5,000 lumens. Is not it enough, it is possible to combine several modules and achieve an even higher brightness, for example. to cinemas.

The three lasers in the module together emit light equivalent to 21 watts in 10 watts for red, 6 watts for green and 5 watts of blue. With an energy efficiency averaged 18% use the module around. 110 watts and is thus much more energy efficient than a conventional projector at the same brightness.

Another advantage of using lasers is the improved color reproduction, since color space is higher than traditional projectors, like the contrast is also better.

Jump Start Mobile Content

For most carriers, premium data services still account for significantly less than 10% of the revenue they make, even though millions of people are buying ring tones (143 million tones in 2004) and teens are sending enough SMS messages to fill an encyclopedia (42 billion in 2004). This is all still penny ante stuff when you consider the staggering size of the potential user base (180 million in the U.S. alone). The fact is that U.S. customers are just getting their feet wet in premium mobile content compared to the faster buy-in from Europe and Asia. Part of this is a technology problem; our networks are not robust enough for consistent experiences. But carriers and publishers also need to cultivate users more effectively than they have. Mobile content needs a jump-start.

Several months ago, I urged major publishers to consider distributing content to the emerging mobile phone platforms. For all of the hype surrounding wireless (my own included), however, 2004 was not exactly the breakthrough year some had expected for mobile content. In the U.S., mobile phone penetration is at about 60%, but users are only beginning to venture beyond voice and into the various kinds of data channels content providers will eventually exploit. According to Jupiter Research, mobile carrier ARPU (average revenue per user) has not gone up much, if at all, in the past three years mainly because increased fees for data usage (ring tones, SMS messaging, games, mobile content) have not been enough to offset the declining prices we pay for voice minutes

Is Skype and Yahoo launching a mobile network?

This Business Week article speculates that Skype may partner with Yahoo to develop a mobile network using the 700Mhz spectrum, it says "industry insiders see Skype rolling out its own mobile network, possibly in cahoots with Yahoo."
I imagine this type of network would be a hybrid 3G/Wifi/VOIP network. Skype could combine its enormous VOIP user base and with Yahoo Messenger's large instant messenger user base to up-sell wireless phone and broadband service. They could effectively bypass the broadband providers to connect directly to some of their end users.
Yahoo typically tries to be a neutral force with its partners but this development would put it in direct competition with its broadband partners. How would Yahoo's broadband partners would feel about Yahoo bypassing their networks and offering a competitive service? Maybe Yahoo would make this move because they think their broadband partnership contracts are at risk? Maybe they would do it because they could partially insulate themselves from the network neutrality quality of service issue.
The partnerships continue to get even more confusing. Google and Earthlink have joined forced to launch municipal wifi networks. Meanwhile, Microsoft and Yahoo announced an instant messenger interoperability partnership in October 2005 and then Google and AOL announced a similar partnership in December 2005 (will these partnerships ever launch?). I continue to believe that the IM and VOIP clients are one in the same.
This puts Skype is in a strong negotiating position. Skype has remained uncommitted to the YHOO/MSFT camp or the GOOG/AOL camp. If Skype chooses to work with Yahoo on this project, it effectively aligns with Yahoo and Microsoft and deepens its relationship with Yahoo. Their existing partnership already agrees that Yahoo will sell Ebay inventory, Yahoo will use PayPal, and Ebay will include Yahoo features in its toolbar. In addition, Yahoo Messenger and Skype already have a partnership to work on 'click-to-call' functionality.
I think Ebay should use its negotiating leverage to win additional concession from Yahoo. I would like to see Ebay's listings featured more prominently on Yahoo's search.

Wendell Roelf from Reuters was able to grab some time for an interview with Jimmy Wales, Wikipedia founder during a conference in Cape Town, South Africa. Wikipedia was able to raise $1 million in donations last year and is expected to spend about $3 million in 2007.

Wales also spoke about his new search engine expected to compete with Google and Yahoo, "Hopefully it's successful and would provide funding back to Wikipedia." Wendell noted that Wales said last month that Wikia is aiming to take as much as 5 percent of the lucrative Internet search market.
