Nokia is still bought more than any mobile

According to research company Gartenr who looked at mobil markdet for 2009, a total of 1.211 billion phones worldwide, a slight decrease of 0.9% over the previous year.

Looking at how sales are distributed among the individual producers, so it is again Nokia, which has sold the most, with over 440 million phones. It gives the Finnish company a market share of 36.4%, representing a decrease of 2.2 percentage points compared to 2008.

After Nokia find Samsung in second place and LG third with respectively 19.5% and 10.1% of the world market. Both companies have thus experienced increases in their market, because in 2008 was respectively 16.3% and 8.4%.

On fourth-and fifth place is Motorola and Sony Ericsson, which both have experienced a decline. The most serious problem for Motorola, which has almost been halved its sales from 106.5 million units sold in 2008 to 58.5 million in 2009.

Focused on the smartphone market, based on operating systems, it's also Nokia, which ranks first with 80.9 million Symbian devices. They are followed by RIM with 34.3 million units and iPhone with 24.9 million units.

Nokia rallies Apple over iPhone

Nokia accuse Apple of not paying royalties for the technology that others have invented and which Apple uses in the iPhone. After having failed to get Apple to pay drags Nokia now Apple in court. Voice Encoding and encryption to hear some of the technologies that Nokia believes that Apple has used, and so is a violation of Nokia's patents. It is about technologies of GSM, UMTS (3G) and WLAN.

- The patents covers mobile data transmission, speech coding, security and encryption. The patents have been violated by all Apple iPhone models since the iPhone was introduced in 2007, writes the Nokia in a press release.

Nokia informs that over the last two decades has invested nearly 40 billion on research and development, and has built a huge collection of patents, consisting of over 10,000 patents.

- The basic principle of the mobile industry is that companies that contribute to the development of technologies that create intellectual content as the others have to pay to use. Apple is also expected to follow this principle, says Ilkka Rahnasto, which is Vice President of Legal & Intellectual Property at Nokia.

Waiting for 5th September! Keep fingers crossed

It looks like an official invitation of Apple. They are going to announce something new.People are predicting about this event onEngadget. Here are few commnets,

Tony Says: "If that's the official invite? No doubt! That's what coverflow on my iPhone looks like, and I'll bet that's what coverflow will look like on whatever iPod they debut on the 5th. I don't think the 5th gen iPod has the horsepower to do coverflow, and it would be so small on that screen, there has to be something new to handle it."

Snakej23 says: "I definitely think new ipods I work at best buy and and most of our stores have been out of all ipods for about a week and a half now and we havent gotten any or show that we are getting any and the last time this happened the new ipods were released."

waiownsyou says: "The new iPod is definitely coming out. I just hope it's not really that ugly and fat iPod that'll replace the nano that was shown a few days ago by Engadget. The last time I saw it, I washed my eyes out with soap and cried myself to sleep."

iPhone Update 1.0.2 Released

Apple has released iPhone Update 1.0.2 i.e. available via iTunes.The update only lists "bug fixes" as its description and weighs in at 3.7MB.

According to early reports, no new features have been noted.Users who have hacked their iPhone may see problems with their update. In these situations, you may be required to restore to factory default and then update, but you may lose your backups.Users who have only installed Ringtones appear to be safe, with the ability to upgrade normally.

An iPhone AppleCare plan will cover hardware repairs for your iPhone through the first year after your one-year limited warranty expires.

Apple says iPhone AppleCare plans will include coverage for the iPhone battery as well. That means you won’t have to pay $86 for a replacement iPhone battery once yours dies after 400 charges.

So if you plan to keep your iPhone for a while, an AppleCare plan may be a better buy, at $69, than an iPhone replacement battery for $86.

Plus, if you’re one of those who goes without an iPhone case because you like to show off your shiny, naked new gadget, an iPhone AppleCare plan will give you a lot less to stress about.

iMac and iLife! Bringing More Colors to Your Life

Apple CEO Steve Jobs unveiled new iMacs with aluminum and glass exteriors, keeping the rumor mill honest this time. Apple's iMac is an all-in-one computer where the motherboard sits behind a flat-panel display, in a more streamlined approach to the traditional desktop PC.

The company also updated its software for home Mac users, known as the iLife suite. The five applications that make up iLife '08 aim to help Mac users organize "user-generated content"--that ubiquitous Web 2.0 phrase--for both internal consumption at home and showcases that can one-up the Jones' trip to Nepal.

It's been a busy year for Apple. From January to June, it seemed everything was about the iPhone, while in the interim the company has been scrambling to get Leopard, the next version of the Mac OS, ready to ship in October. However, Tuesday's event featured far less glitz and hype as Apple introduced new products for its audience of home-media enthusiasts.

After iPhone, Now its G-Phone Turn

It is a common news these days that Google is trying to jump into the mobile phone market, with a report today on the The Wall Street Journal's Website that says the search giant has been in talks with carriers such as T-Mobile and Verizon Wireless about technical specs and about carrying handsets optimized to run Google applications.

The Journal, citing people familiar with the project, also said that Google has invested hundreds of millions of dollars in its mobile phone project, and has already developed prototype handsets. Unlike Apple's exclusive deal with AT&T, the Journal reported that Google is hoping to forge deals with multiple manufacturers and offer the handsets through multiple carriers and that the phones will not necessarily carry the Google brand.

The phones are still very much in the planning stages, and consumers shouldn't expect to see them until next year at the earliest.

Here Comes the First iPhone Binary Release

Finally a new revival have been made in iPhone but this time in an unauthorized way. The busy beavers of the #iphone IRC channel, whose collective efforts have built the first unauthorized iPhone GUI application which only displays the "Hello World" and does nothing else , have released the source for the demo app, buildable with the community-built toolchain and UIKit.A compiled binary version of the app has also been hosted.

Congratulations to hackers who are building a development environment for the iPhone from bits of string and folded-up tinfoil. It's an impressive achievement.

Say Good Bye to iPhone!

According to NY Times, Researchers at a security firm Independent Security Evaluators have announced that they have found a vulnerability in the Apple iPhone that allows them to extract personal information and "take control" of the device from a malicious website or WiFi connection.

In a video, they have presented a demo of of the exploit as well as answers to questions, but does not provide would-be hackers any detailed instructions. Apple has reportedly been notified of findings. A full disclosure of the hack will be released at the BlackHat conference on August 2nd, while a preliminary is currently available.

According to the site, in their proof of concept, the exploit can read the log of SMS messages, address book, call history, voicemail data and transmit it to the malicious site.

iPhone without Phone

Apple is going to launch next month a new iPod that looks, feels and works like an iPhone, but without the phone part.

DigiTimes, a Taiwan-based publication that often leaks details about local companies that make electronic components for companies worldwide, says Taiwan-based Wintek has won a large touchscreen display contract for Apple's next media player.

Other reports suggest the next-generation iPod could come out as late as January, which would allow the iPhone to dominate 2007 holiday sales.

If Apple does ship an iPhone-like iPod, it would likely prove popular. Millions want the advanced, multitouch interface of the iPhone, but balk at moving to AT&T, dumping their 80GB iPods for 8GB iPhones, or moving from a 3G phone to EDGE data speeds.

Bugs and Issues with iPhone

According to Robert, they spent more than 40 hours tapping around the iPhone screens in an effort to find issues with the applications and they gor few bugs. The bugs range from minor display issues to application crashes. All 68 are reproducible by every iPhone owner!

Apple on it's way......

Apple and AT&T released the iPhone on June 29 in the US. The launch appears to have broken all records, including that of media hysteria, and by any measure it was a huge success. At this time, it appears that over the first three days alone Apple sold at least 500,000 iPhones — unsubsidized, unlike almost all other handsets sold in the US — which is more than the Motorola RAZR sold in its first month. In comparison, the iPhone has generated roughly 200m mentions on the Web, according to Google.

Whether the iPhone turns into a long-term success or not, however, the combination of excitement and fear it has stirred has already caused a number of changes in the mobile communications industry. Most important is that the device has raised user expectations— and not just for that superior design for which Apple is famous. The iPhone has already woken up a large portion of the market to the benefits of a menu-free, multi-touch user interface, to the idea of mobile Internet access, and to the opportunity in software and device integration.
