Nokia N76! Mass production faults?

According to a post from Mobile Review, i foung some interesting facts about Nokia N71.Nokia experienced no global issue with the quality of their handsets. Undoubtedly, every model had some flaws, but the way they were treated greatly depended on personal loyalty to the brand – many refused to spot the Nokia N71’s peeling-off edging, which was in fact a defect of the design. The number of flaws has varied from handset to handset, but it wouldn’t be right to claim that some device had a hundred percent faulty shipments. However, the Russian market saw an exception in the form of the Nseries models, which couldn’t tap into GPRS within MTS, Beeline, occasionally Megafon networks, though the latter almost didn’t experience such difficulties. The crux of the matter was the software installed on these handsets, which was tailored to more contemporary networks, rather than some custom variations offered by the Russian carriers. Turn your handsets into Digital Wallets

The UK’s big five mobile phone firms have switched on a payment system that turns handsets into digital wallets.

Soon you could be paying for parking with a handset , called PayForIt, the scheme is designed for those buying goods and services with a value of up to £10.

The industry hopes it will be used to pay for ringtones, train tickets, parking fees and eventually as a payment system on web shops and sites.

Any cash spent via the scheme will automatically be added on to a customer’s phone bill.

Waiting for 5th September! Keep fingers crossed

It looks like an official invitation of Apple. They are going to announce something new.People are predicting about this event onEngadget. Here are few commnets,

Tony Says: "If that's the official invite? No doubt! That's what coverflow on my iPhone looks like, and I'll bet that's what coverflow will look like on whatever iPod they debut on the 5th. I don't think the 5th gen iPod has the horsepower to do coverflow, and it would be so small on that screen, there has to be something new to handle it."

Snakej23 says: "I definitely think new ipods I work at best buy and and most of our stores have been out of all ipods for about a week and a half now and we havent gotten any or show that we are getting any and the last time this happened the new ipods were released."

waiownsyou says: "The new iPod is definitely coming out. I just hope it's not really that ugly and fat iPod that'll replace the nano that was shown a few days ago by Engadget. The last time I saw it, I washed my eyes out with soap and cried myself to sleep."

Google Talk! Development has been started again

According to Irene Chen,Wistron NeWeb has entered design-in development for Wi-Fi phones with Google Talk compatibility. The maker has been shipping Skype-enabled Wi-Fi phones to branded network-equipment vendors since late last year, according to company sources.
Shipments of Skype Wi-Fi phones could top 20,000-30,000 units a month in the second half of 2007, indicated the sources.

The Wi-Fi phones targeting the consumer segment will help drive revenues growth at Wistron in the future, said the sources.

The company has also stepped up its efforts to boost sales of its SIP (session initiation protocol) Wi-Fi phones to the telecoms sector in 2007, said the company sources, noting that the company previously focused on brand vendors for the production of the SIP Wi-Fi phones.

Chunghwa Telecom (CHT) and another Taiwan-based telecoms services provider have adopted VoIP solutions, which include CPE (customer premises equipment) products such as SIP Wi-Fi phones, offered by Wistron, the sources indicated.
